Rotten: If it came across your desk, you would probably give it a C-, along with feedback on how to improve on the next assignment.
Rotten: The flashback structure isn't wholly satisfying, and the climax leaves an abundance of questions, so much so that the movie might have benefited either from taking the time to further flesh those revelations out or stripping them down.
Fresh: A great, big, fat, juicy slice of masterfully directed melodrama...The remarkable central performance by Emily Blunt should put her in the outside running for an Oscar
Fresh: The Girl on the Train isn't going to blow your mind but there's enough in it to enjoy a tense trip with some pretty strong performances.
I read the book and had really high hopes for this movie... was horrible!!! So disappointed!! The book tells the story from 3 different peoples point of view, so it kind of skips around from past and present... well the movie does as well and it just doesn't flow well for a movie. They could have done a much better job.
Surprisingly good movie
This was easily one of the best thriller/suspense movies I have ever seen... kept me guessing until right before the big reveal! Did not disappoint
A heart pumping thriller that will keep you at the edge of your seat.
The trailer was creepy and mysterious. But when I saw the movie itself, I quickly changed my perspective about it. It was a movie that made me think about how if you trust someone or not. This is a movie you should not miss.
