About the Movie

Humanity has been all but destroyed by a fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh eating "hungries." Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects. At an army base in rural England, this group of unique children are being studied, subjected to cruel experiments. When the base falls, one little girl escapes and must discover what she is, and ultimately decide both her own future and that of the human race.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: "The Girl With All the Gifts" doesn't really venture into new territory, but it does a decent job of reminding us why zombies are so scary, and so interesting. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, Feb 23, 2017

Fresh: It's a film for people who thought they never needed to sit through another zombie flick. It's also quite likely the strangest entry that will ever appear on Glenn Close's IMDB page. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Feb 23, 2017

Fresh: It's got some future-world smarts that sporadically elevate it above the junk that dominates this genre, and they help carry it through the routine spatter-and-gore moments and sci-fi cliches. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Feb 23, 2017

Rotten: Like Melanie, The Girl With All the Gifts is neither dead nor alive but somewhere in between. – April Wolfe, L.A. Weekly, Mar 1, 2017

Surprisingly good in zombie niche

I know, I'm sick of zombie movies too. So sick of them in fact, that I gave this one a whirl because some promised it'd be somewhat of a fresh take. For the most part, they were right.

Great acting, semi-newish spin on the same old thing, and a more "realistic" story than most. Overall, it's worth a few bucks for a rental if you're into Zombie flicks with more storyline, heart, and freshness than the typical gore-fest the genre typically serves up.

What fan of zombie movies hasn't watched dozens of them, very often being disappointed after great expectations? The Girl with all the gifts should probably not disappoint. Very creative, with a good cast, and a very original storyline.

That one is really worth watching. I highly recommend.

WHat is this ending?!?! I am absolutely disappointed!!!! ANd confused. And a little tipsy.
