About the Movie

Two high school filmmakers’ (Keir Gilchrist and Logan Miller) experiment started with a simple idea: if you had the equipment and the ambition, could you convince another person that they're being haunted? Through a series of escalating pranks, the boys taunt their elderly neighbor (James Caan) further and further to get a reaction. As their suspicions grow and the tension mounts, they realize too late that the man they're manipulating is the last person they should've chosen for their project.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: There's not much real suspense stirred here by a premise that straddles recent found-footage thrillers and "Rear Window." – Dennis Harvey, Variety, Mar 17, 2016

Rotten: The dreary lack of suspense in this tweaked "Rear Window" scenario, and our inability to care one whit for two cruel, arrogant bullies operating under a perceived notion that they're social scientists, makes this one tough going. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Sep 15, 2016

Rotten: A film that - from its basic set-up to its dearth of tension - plays like the tedious inverse of Don't Breathe. – Nick Schager, Village Voice, Sep 16, 2016

Wow did not know what to expect. But that ending?? Holy cow; really smart and suspenseful. Much more than your average thriller. This is not a horror movie. It's a thoughtful thriller with some real emotion. Very impressed! Definitely worth 90 mins of your time!

My head is still spinning from that ending. Wow. Such a cool, inventive, edge of your seat thriller. Highly recommend!

A surprising twist in the last 20 mins! Although very saddening in the end, it is a look into how horrid the justice system is today.
