"The Hamiltons" seem to be the picture-perfect American family. They are hardworking community members; giving to their local charities, attending town hall meetings and always respectful of their neighbors... except for the fact that they usually end up killing them.
I liked it...
I like the fact that this is not a typical big-busted sorority girl slasher flick. There are no teenagers running around in the woods being picked off one by one. The Hamiltons had me intrigued from the very beginning, with the obvious tension between all the creepy family members. You can almost feel the main character's struggle with his humanity throughout it all, and the constant question of "Will he do it?" There is also a big mystery dealing with some kind of creature they keep in their basement with the people they kidnap, and what it turned out to be really surprised me, which doesn't happen often in horror movie endings. It's not your typical horror movie, but I think you'll like it in a way that's not typical either.
At first you think you know exactly what is going on. But it takes a turn at an interesting point of view. If you like horror from a new take its a plus. Not extremely scary, but good.
It's real good, but weird.
THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL HORROR MOVIE.
This isn't real gorey or scary. But still worth a look!
If you like quiet, strange movies, with a twist, that make you think...rent this.
The whole movie your trying to figure out 'what is wrong with this family'?? And the whole movie never really makes sense...until the last few minutes. The ending will shock you.(If you still dont understand it...rent the real thing & watch the extras)
People have said the sex scenes aren't nescessary...well, its a horror movie. & once you figure out what they are...it kinda all makes sense, & seems nescessary.
This is my favorite from ALL the ADHF movies (which btw i dont like that much, b/c i'm a huge horror buff & they were all kinda stupid & cheesy). This one at least felt like it had some THOUGHT put into it.
