About the Movie

Based on a chilling true story, The Haunting In Connecticut charts one family's terrifying, real-life encounter with the dark forces of the supernatural. When the Campbell family moves to upstate Connecticut, they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner's clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover. Now, unspeakable terror awaits when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the dead, returns to unleash a new kind of horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family.

Rotten: Gives you the creeps, the giggles and the groans in almost equal measure. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: What started out reasonably scary, if derivative, just drags on and becomes silly. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Haunting suffers for its need to be sold as a straight-up horror film, and the fact it has been seemingly retrofitted as such. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Awsome Movie!

When I saw the movie, I thought it was one of the best horror films I have seen. My friend was so scared that she grabbed my hand a few minutes into the movie and then hit herself in the face at the first sight of something scary. Even thought it was awsome. It did not scare me at all. COME ON! BRING IT!

Truelly chilling!

It had all good aspects of a good movie. Originality, twisted minds, and an awesome turn at the end. I went to see this movie in theaters hoping for something closely related to 'The Uninvited' - which in my opinion was a movie suited for my age. (13) I got something more than I expected. It was quite original! The only downfall I could find was that rather than having the whole suspence and then action at the end, it was action every few minutes! (Somewhat like 'The Unborn'.) It kept you on that same level the entire time, until the truth is revealed at the end! I highly recomend this movie to anyone below the age of 20. If you enjoy gore, look for movies like 'Friday the thriteenth' and 'Saw'.

:yikes: I have not heard of this movie before and thought nothing of it. I didn't think would be scared. Boy was I wrong! WARNING: DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE ALONE BY YOURSELF IN MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT IN THE DARK! or DO but at your own risk! After doing so I was so scared I almost pissed my pants! I tried going to bed afterwards, and was really tired nearly nodding off, but then I kept seeing things and hearing things that I could not sleep unless I had some lights on. GREATEST SCARY MOVIE SINCE THE EXCORCIST! Even more frightening is that this is based on a true story! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!
