Working class New York bus driver Ralph Kramden (Cedric the Entertainer) is a man with big dreams that never work out. His friend, sewer specialist Ed Norton (Mike Epps) is always around to help him get in (and out of) trouble. Standing by their husbands are devoted wives Alice (Gabrielle Union) and Trixie (Regina Hall) who make ends meet by waitressing at a neighborhood diner. Throw in a stray dog named Iggy who runs like the wind (when he's motivated) and you have a comical underdog story for the whole family.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: John Leguizamo steals the show as its sleazy trainer -- not that there's much to steal from John Schultz's joylessly schematic paycheck.
Rotten: The real problem is that the Kramdens' precarious financial situation, which gave the original its poignant frisson, is sidestepped.
Rotten: Cannibalizing old programs has become a reflex action in Tinseltown, and as a result, audience expectations are low. It must be hard to resist the temptation to live down to them.
Rotten: The honeymoon is over.
Please don't watch this. It pains me.
A Very Sad movie
save your time and just watch the tv shows. This movie adds nothing but takes sooo much of your time. Painful
Sad, very sad.
First off, no one can even come close to Jackie Gleason's humor. But to let Cedric the Entertainer play Gleason's character is such an insult. What a disgrace to the best breakthrough comedy of the 50s, to let such an amateur play Ralph Kramden. Save your money and get the original TV series. It'll make you laugh infinitely more times than this piece of fluff.
