The Hurt Locker.....Outstanding

I saw this film on a specisl prescreening and as a veteren of Iraq myself, I found it very well done. This movie is one of the best movies I have seen that shows the emotional and physical challenges that soldiers face. I recommend this to anyone who has an interest in this genre.

I watched this movie with my soldiers in Iraq. All it did was provided us with endless hours material to make fun of EOD with (worked closely with them everday). It makes me laugh that a bunch of people who know nothing about Iraq/Afganhistan claim this movie to be realistic. At first it made us mad, then we realized how unrealistic it was and it just made us laugh!

Not buying it.

I couldnt stand this movie. As a two time Iraq veteran (getting ready for a third one)...I found there is absolutely nothing accurate in this movie. The dialogue is extremely cheezy, the action is mediocre, and the story is extremely unrealistic and makes no sense at all. Anybody who has actually walked the streets of Baghdad (or anywhere in Iraq, for that matter) and even worked with EOD will understand what I'm saying. One thing I did like about this movie was the realistic enviroment, it was filmed in nearby Jordan, and did look very similar to cities in Iraq. Another thing worth mentioning is that it isnt extremely political like most modern war movies are, and the creators did a good job in keeping their personal politics out. Other than that, as somebody who has been there and done that, it's hard to praise this movie. Worth a rent only if you're bored. Nice try, Bigelow.
