Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: With a few vital strokes - a long, chilly walk and a tired trudge up some stairs - Mr. Farina and Mr. Maggio bring you close...
Fresh: Despite all this boilerplate gangster-with-a-heart-of-gold stuff, there's an emotional payoff to Joe May that feels solid and right.
Fresh: Downbeat vision of a small-time crook's final days offers a plum role for Dennis Farina.
Rotten: The story gets close to its goal but winds up lost, leaving Farina holding the bag.
Dennis Farina gives an amazing performance in this heart wrenching movie about growing old. The film is one of the most realistic movies that I have ever seen. Every scene makes you feel like you are watching life itself. As a character actor, Farina has always been one to gut out the part and bring his character to life. Here Farina excels beyond any performances given, even by those of Brando and Newman. An excellent movie and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes drama, human interest stories or just a great movie.
Nicely sad movie
Farina is really good. Worth watching.
This was a very boring movie. I kept waiting for a real plot...it never came.
