Three soldiers -- Colee (McAdams), T.K. (Pena) and Cheaver (Robbins) -- return from the Iraq War, after suffering injuries, and learn that life has moved on without them. They end up on an unexpected road trip across the U.S., with Colee on a mission to bring her boyfriend's guitar back to his family because he saved her life, T.K. seeking confidence to face his wife after a shrapnel injury threatens his sexual function, and middle-aged Cheaver planning to hit the casinos in a desperate effort to pay for his son's college tuition.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: With a smooth, light touch, The Lucky Ones focuses on the idea that the present and the people who factor into it are all we really have.
Rotten: This is not the worst of the Iraq-themed movies of the past few years, and it's possibly the best acted of any of them. But you wish the bonding of these three people wasn't diluted by the trite scenarios and artificial circumstances of their saga.
Rotten: [A] far-fetched take on Iraq War homecomings.
Rotten: The Lucky Ones has plenty of heart and courage. If it only had a brain ...
