Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: A pastel-colored, embroidered wall-hanging of a drama directed by Rob Reiner.
Rotten: Shaggily sentimental and a few spells short of enchantment.
Rotten: It has some heartfelt performances and a nice, nondescript vibe, but it's largely unmemorable.
Rotten: It's predictably ironic that The Magic of Belle Isle champions the unparalleled power of imagination while displaying absolutely none of its own.
The Magic of Belle Isle
I never though on a Monday night at 10:30pm, I start a movie that kept me crying almost the entire length of the movie. I love me wife and my son and daughter along with my two step girls who still have there life to live while they watch the handicap father lay in the bed felling sorry for himself and even Morgan Freeman can make an elderly man in a wheel chair come alive again with some imagination, love and positive thinking. Before becoming handicap I spent 25 years serving my community in Law Enforcement and I just realized tonight how Ive stopped living, when there are still so many positive things out there to see and let my imagination and dreams still come true instead of a bucket list. Well If you need a movie about real life, love and some of the most positive words I've ever heard in a movie then pay the extra $9.99 on iTunes and watch the movie instead of being cheap and waiting for it to come out on video or tv.

What an excellent heart warming movie. A long time

It's nice to finally view a movie with a nice story line. One that is fit for the whole family, although I doubt if real young children would enjoy it, with no unwarranted violence, or bad language.
I cracked up when the dog started licking the girls feet.
In all, it was a very nice movie, and Morgan Freeman did an excellent acting job, as usual.
