Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Pompous and garbled.
Fresh: Acting is what sustains the unstable plot lines.
Rotten: Moves in such odd plot directions and descends into such message-mongering moralism that its good qualities are obscured.
Fresh: Only the charm and attractiveness of the cast keeps this movie from the remainder bin.
extremely well done
very dramatic, surprising, erotic, and well-acted. a fine film, and quite underrated. definitely worth seeing.
Mick Jagger steals this picture.
There is a scene between Angelica Huston and Mick Jagger this is one of the most heartbreaking I have ever seen. Jagger is really lovely in this. iTunes - I would love to be able to rent this, but will not spend $15 to buy - will check back from time to time.
Toe lickin' fun in Pasadena
Jagger plays the devil. Money is a seductive vice. Love has it's own agenda. The night is delicate. The duck pond was once a lovely pool. The past falls away. Futures are rarely planned. A broken heart is worth redeeming. Garcia gives his all, but the scenes are not as much romantic as pointed. I enjoyed it enough to post this review and my friend also enjoyeed the film.. Time will tell if it is memorable, but if you ever have seen the opening scene of Bent, you will know that Jagger commands attention as soon as his voice is heard. A glimpse ionto the other vices of the wives of the rich and famous. A happy ending is doubtful, but its what the readers most want. What do you want from a movie? Have you paid enough to have it your way or no way? Enjoy. Reccommend.
