Acerca de la película

Life seems perfect for John Brennan (Russell Crowe) until his wife, Lara (Elizabeth Banks), is arrested for a murder she says she didn't commit. Three years into her sentence, John is struggling to hold his family together, raising their son Luke (Ty Simpkins) and teaching at community college while he pursues every means available to prove her innocence. With the rejection of their final appeal, Lara becomes suicidal and John decides there is only one possible, bearable solution: to break his wife out of prison. Refusing to be deterred by impossible odds or his own inexperience, John devises an elaborate escape plot and plunges into a dangerous and unfamiliar world, ultimately risking everything for the woman he loves.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Even with an actor of Crowe's skill, it's hard to believe the mild, thoughtful John would take to the mean streets of Pittsburgh for fake IDs, blast his way into drug houses and such. – Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic, 15 ago, 2011

Fresh: Solid performances, beautiful camerawork. It just would've been nice if they'd included some more twists and turns in the otherwise decent script – Marc Fennell, Triple J, 1 mar, 2011

Rotten: The film lacks a sense of inquiry, whether it's into the psychology of the characters or into the nature of the society that's wrongfully judged this woman. – Jason Di Rosso, MovieTime, ABC Radio National, 4 feb, 2011

Fresh: It's an all-consuming task, and Crowe makes this obsessiveness plausible. – Philippa Hawker, The Age (Australia), 2 feb, 2011

A True Thriller.

This movie is a true thriller.
Emotional. Gripping. Engaging. I kept moving around in my chair because of how uncomfortable I was - due to the fact that I did not know what was going to happen. I wanted one thing to happen, but there was nothing in the movie leading me to accurately predict the outcome of the movie. Near the end of the escape sequences, I sort of guessed what would happen, but even still, I wasn't sure. You may be a little more observant than me and therefore be able to make a sure prediction, but, even if you find it predictable, I have no doubt you will find it suspenseful.
There is a lot of conflict in the movie. Personal conflict within the lead character. Russell Crowe does a really good job playing this part. The lady playing his wife does a really good job as well.
Most of the movie leads and builds up the the chases scenes. Every moment in the movie is captivating.
I'm sure you will not be disappointed. But, I won't say that you will love the movie. You may simply think that it is a worthy movie rental, none-the-less, it WILL be worth your money.
