Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: When all else fails, pump up the thunder and lightning. That seems to be an operating principle behind the supremely unnecessary remake of the 1976 horror fest. – Stephen Holden, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: I felt like I was seeing The Da Vinci Code with slightly shadier priests. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 7, 2011

Rotten: Not since Gus Van Sant inexplicably directed a shot-by-shot remake of Hitchcock's Psycho has a thriller been copied with so little point or impact. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Other than the obvious marketing advantages of releasing this movie on 06/06/06, a second Omen seems completely unnecessary, even if it is kind of fun. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

this one is better than the old one

It was awsome!

This movie was amazing, but it was too freaky. I had nightmares for 2 weeks from this movie.

1976's "The Omen" is one of the greatest horror films of all time. 2006's "The Omen is one of the worst horror films of all time. This movie is NOTHING like the first one. It's not even a funny terrible horror film like "Child's play" or "The Leprechaun." This movie blows the donkey. Don't rent or buy.
