Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: "The One I Love" is diverting, but nothing catches fire, despite Ms. Moss, an amazing actress fast breaking free of the limits imposed on her by "Mad Men."
Fresh: Fans of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits will particularly appreciate this blend of clever mystery, offbeat wit and a deeper-than-usual observational analysis of relationships and marital ennui.
Fresh: There is something slightly subversive and satisfyingly spot on when a movie about love and marriage turns on a solitary detail.
Rotten: It begins by exploring how fantasy intrudes on and affects our perceptions of reality; it ends by trying too hard to convince us that its fantasies could, somehow, be real.
got a chance to view this film at the tribeca festival a few months ago and from start to finish enjoyed it thoroughly. From the writing, to the directing and casting, this film is a home run. Great date night movie, that both will enjoy!
Clever and thought provoking!
I really enjoyed it -- very inventive and unexpected. Highly recommend to those looking for something fresh. Als, it should be noted that Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss are FANTASTIC in it.
A Bit Strange
We are sure it was intended to be avant guarde, but it is a little over the top. The acting was okay, but the story line is not the best. My wife and I both rated it a "c". A little repetitive and sometimes hard to follow.
