Rotten: What is our reward for the collective effort of this prestigious assembly? One of the most dreadfully unnecessary movies in recent memory. – Stephanie Zacharek,, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: It's not a crime to be silly, although the cast of The Pink Panther 2 dance perilously close to committing at the very least a misdemeanor. – Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, Nov 2, 2014

Rotten: It's not only a pointless resurrection of Blake Edwards' classic comic franchise, but a formulaic photocopy of its predecessor -- Steve Martin's 2006 remake. – Annette Basile, FILMINK (Australia), Jun 24, 2010

excellent, and pays tribute to the original Clouseau

I am a big fan of the original Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, and I thought this movie was great. I may have liked it a little more than the first one with Steve Martin. For those who know the originals, there are a number of elements in the movie that allude to scenes from the original movies (e.g., "my little yellow friend", Clouseau's incompetent use of martial arts weaponry, his uncanny ability to inadvertantly drive Dreyfuss mad in conversation ("But I can't fly!"), etc.). John Cleese is Chief Inspector Dreyfuss in this, whereas Kevin Kline was Dreyfuss in the first Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin. In general I am bothered when they change actors like that, although Cleese is both excellent and hilarious. For those who like this movie, or the last one with Steve Martin, but haven't seen the originals, you should definitely check them out (just search 'Pink Panther'). I think Steve Martin is playing an excellent Clouseau, though it wouldn't surprise me if one reason I find him as funny as I do is because the original Inspector Clouseau (Sellers) is in the back of my mind while watching. Currently iTunes has all of the original movies with Sellers except for one (The Pink Panther Strikes Again) (I am not counting Trail of the Pink Panther, which iTunes also does not have currently, which was completed after Sellers's death and consists mostly of flashbacks to the prior movies).

love this movie, but first was better :)

This movie was so funny! My friend and I were laughing our heads off in the movie theater! Some people got mad, but who cares? It was funny!
