This should've won for Best Picture!

The story is amazing, I read the novel a few years back, then when I saw the film, I was amazed! I was extremely satisfied with every actor's performance, especially Kate Winslet, who never fails to entertain us! (& it was about damn time she won that Oscar. She's been nominated too many times). This film is truly a masterpiece, especially an honor to keep in my iPod. I will always treasure the novel & film. Beautiful story. congrats Kate!

Awesome story....Awesome performance by Kate Winslet

It's a Sunday night in the Castro in San Francisco and I was wanting to take in a movie and this cold, windy night in the city. I decided to sneak into the Castro Theater to see "The reader." At first, I thought it was going to be a boring docudrama. However, I was very quickly drawn into Kate Winslet's character and the emotional twists and turns of Hanna and Michael. The story and the performances takes you down a road of eroticism, romantic longing, and finally a sad empty memory of an innocent love. If you have not seen this movie it is a must. Kate Winslet is truly compelling as Hanna Schmitz.

A Must See!

I have read the book and saw the movie recently. It is definetly one of those movies that is worth seeing. Kate Winslet was very convincing as Hanna, I also thought that the kid that played Michael was very good considering it was his first big time movie production. It started out very fast and slowed down towards the end, however I would suggest this movie to anyone who enjoys a good movie, with very good acting.
