About the Movie

Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge) stars in this shocking, non-stop supernatural thriller unlike anything you've ever experienced before. Joanna Mills (Gellar) is haunted by increasingly terrifying visions where she can see and feel the brutal murder of a woman she's never met. With her life spiraling out-of-control, she follows the relentless nightmares to an eerie small town in Texas - a place where secrets can't be buried, a spirit seeks vengeance, and the horrific murder from Joanna's visions may just be her own.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The horror movie workhorse Sarah Michelle Gellar is back to chill us with The Return, a rote thriller with an intriguingly frenetic shooting style. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: Mellow -- nay, snoozy -- atmospherics trump actual scares, and it makes almost zero sense. – Gregory Kirschling, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Time-killer chiller reps an undistinguished U.S. debut for U.K. helmer Asif Kapadia, though the undernourished script may be most at fault. – Dennis Harvey, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The Return universally fails to establish any sense of reality, which makes it hard to register when Joanna's world starts falling apart. – Sam Adams, Los Angeles Times, Sep 20, 2007

Terrible

This movie was an absolute disaster. The story had absolutely no point, there was barely any "thrill" to it at all, and it made no sense. This movie was just awful. If your looking for a movie to watch just cause its so bad, be my guest....
