About the Movie

From executive producer Martin Scorsese, The Snowman is based on Jo Nesbø's New York Times bestselling thriller series. When an elite crime squad's lead detective (Michael Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (Rebecca Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: A twisty tale of inexplicable red herrings, baffling plot detours, and Chloe Sevigny as not one but two identical chicken farmers. – Devan Coggan, Entertainment Weekly, Oct 20, 2017

Rotten: It's bad. A bit of a full-on Nesboner, in fact. – David Fear, Rolling Stone, Oct 20, 2017

Rotten: That look isn't enough to overcome a sluggish pace and increasingly implausible plot. Frozen red herrings are still red herrings. – Mark Feeney, Boston Globe, Oct 20, 2017

Rotten: Not a single scene works as anything more than a total waste of good film. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Oct 23, 2017

Customer Reviews

It lacked something throughout the film.

I saw this movie the night before it was released. It was definitely worth watching one time. I wouldn't pay for it again. They had a great cast and I think the story was great, but it just lacked something that I feel was desperately needed for the film. It was not as gripping as I was hoping for. It wasn't very interesting when it came to anything that was confusing. I just feel like as a mystery/thriller film, it didn't keep me on my toes throughout the film. In my opinion, it lacked suspense. I'm gonna give this rating 2 stars. One for the cast, and one for the story.

The Snowman

I love the snowman! This is not universals best work, but they could’ve done better. If you love crime/horror movies han this is for you!

Great movie to fall asleep too!

Literally me and my friends went to see the movie tonight and we all fell asleep while watching it.

Way too slow, uninteresting, and boring! The previews made it very promising to think that we were going to be seeing a horror detective movie but wow.... What a flop! Never watch again!

We left before it was even half over! Oh and guess what? We weren't the only ones who couldn't make it through it!
