Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Original in some ways but the same old plate of fried green tomatoes in others, this Sundance Festival favorite might rate wider acclaim for its two leads if the overall tone weren't so bloodless and even dreary.
A story with heart and soul.
This is an excellent movie. I enjoyed watching the plot unfold. The movie uses lots of foreshadowing that make it enjoyable to watch a second time through. I really enjoyed the way the women bond in the film, they are all strong independent women, yet still very feminine. The film told of sacrifice, love and redemption. The film at times is a little melodramatic and heavy handed. At times the melodrama would be distracting, at times it put a tear in my eye. I highly recommend this movie to those who like movies with a message. I left this movie feeling better about life and resolving to treat others with love.
Extra-ordinary flick. Rich & meaningful movie & sound track.
One of the best treasures of the decade. A timeless, thought-provoking message that will give you cause to pause. Soul deep. People who live & work with people, will glean a lot from this movie.
Subtle beauty and power
This movie sneaks up on you. It is not in a hurry and doesn't try to dazzle, but it draws you in to its story of pain, loss, healing, forgiveness and redemption. We're not good at slowing down for movies and messages like this, but we need them! Beautiful
