The Startup Kids is a documentary about the growing number of young web dynamos such as the founders of Vimeo, Soundcloud, Kiip, InDinero, Dropbox, and Foodspotting in the U.S. and Europe. Made by two Icelandic entrepreneurs who founded their first company shortly after the economic collapse of Iceland, this doc is an insider's look into what it takes to make it even when everyone is telling you it is impossible.
An inspiring and surprisingly honest movie that tries to pinpoint what drives entrepreneurs to do what they do.
A must-watch for anybody that is, wants to be or knows an entrepreneur.
I love startup documentaries and inspiring movies about tech, and young people. I felt this had to purpose, no direction, and just felt very uncoordinated. I wasn't impressed, and frankly wish I would of rented, not purchased.
The Real Deal
I thought this documentary was very well done and incredibly realistic. I don't think it would be particularly enjoyed by just anyone- it's not the Mark Zuckerberg "Social Network" sort of movie- but it does hold promise for anyone interested in internet-related entrepreneurship. As long as you watch this documentary for reasons other than pure entertainment, you're likely to benefit tremendously from the advice and insight of multiple young, successful, and especially relatable founders of multi-million dollar web companies. I, at least, am feeling inspired as ever!
