Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: This picture is one of the flattest, stupidest, unfunniest sex comedies -- as well as one of the worst all-round pictures -- I've ever seen. – Charles Taylor,, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Seems to have been assembled (at short notice, with blindfolds on) by people who have never seen any movies outside of Cameron Diaz vehicles. – Dennis Lim, Village Voice, Apr 16, 2002

Rotten: Female characters should be allowed to engage in raunchy humor on the big screen; they already do on the small one with Sex and the City. But unlike that HBO series, The Sweetest Thing has no guts. – Mark Caro, Chicago Tribune, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: At 87 minutes, The Sweetest Thing feels pumped up with air, with an extended end-credits sequence designed to stretch the movie to a respectable feature length. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2002

Good fun

Cute movie - certainly not Oscar-worthy, but definitely a good "chic flic" to watch on an uneventful evening. The three actresses really worked well together, especially Applegate and Diaz. Funny and silly. Somewhat graphic "blow job" part that probably isn't appropriate for younger audiences. All around good fun.

this movie is sooooo funny! but iTunes needs the unrated version. trust me it's so much funnier.
