Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Lennon's spirit, like his music, shines through this movie like a beacon. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Aug 14, 2007

Fresh: Concentrates on Lennon's post-Beatles years, in which he did a lot of great work that's overlooked today, and it's good to have a lot shown on that period. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 1, 2006

Fresh: The documentary's a hagiography, no mistake about it, but a fascinating one all the same, and it makes the case that Lennon was as much a genius provocateur as he was a cracked saint. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Nov 24, 2011

Rotten: His life has been raked over by so many books, movies, magazine articles, and TV shows that The U.S. vs. John Lennon barely justifies its own existence. – J. R. Jones, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

Thank You John

Thank you for the gift of your tenacity, and strength to speak the truth in the face of great opposition. I am for one very grateful.

GREAT MOVIE! I'm also the first one to write a review!

This movie really shows John's struggle to stay in the U.S.A. with Yoko. Well, everyone knows the Lennons won! (YES!!!) I recommend this movie to people who are still trapped in the 60's and 70's (even though I'm only 12-years old.)

Bravest man in the US

This must be one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. The bravery of Mr.Lennon is one for the books. I hope we get a decent politician like Lennon, who has powerful values of peace and a strong drive against deception and political lies. This documentary is worth every hard earned penny...
