Guided by his evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog, Jerry must decide whether to keep striving for normalcy, or indulge in a much more sinister path. Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Grisly but not especially suspenseful, tongue-in-cheek without any real wit, "The Voices" aims to hit the intersection of horror and comedy but tumbles into an uncanny valley of tedious creepiness. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, Feb 5, 2015

Fresh: Simultaneously bizarre, humorous, disturbing and suspenseful. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Feb 5, 2015

Fresh: A deeply warped, darkly funny and thoroughly depraved horror comedy. Ryan Reynolds gives one of his best performances. – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times, Feb 11, 2015

Fresh: Casting Ryan Reynolds as a small-town geek who has trouble getting a date may seem as pointless as taking a loving cup to a Leafs game, but the bright-eyed Canadian star makes this dark, dark comedy twinkle with offbeat appeal. – Richard Ouzounian, Toronto Star, Feb 12, 2015

Why can't we buy it and only rent it.

loved it/hated it

Was really, very, truly unprepared for this film. Great acting! It’s just that laughing and gut wrenching disturbing psychopathology don’t go really well together. Probably the most realistic serial killer film of all, but was not prepared for this.... I need a drink and a happy movie

The Voices

I must have missed the parts that were hilarious because I didn’t laugh out at all. It’s about a guy that hear’s voices from his pets and the movie is kind of played lightly around the murderous situations. I wouldn’t describe this a dark comedy at all because that implies that there is comedy in it. If you find a person doing a scottish accent for a cat as amusing then I guess maybe you’ll laugh a little or maybe at the pink forklifts.
