Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The two stars look dewy and glossy and unexceptional, bound together less by chemistry than by the ministrations of a hard-working costume designer.
Rotten: The Vow promises tried-and-true rom-com formula and delivers, treading in sappy, cliche-ridden turf.
Rotten: This is a movie that leaves you wanting more. To care more, to cry more, to love more.
Rotten: The Vow makes the least of its concept, refusing to acknowledge that a love need not be perfect to merit holding on to.

The best movie next to the notebook
I love this movie!!!!!! Makes me remember why I fell in love with my husband.
I'll admit i was extremely disappointed when I saw this movie, I expected a lot out of it and it was just a slow boring love movie, if u enjoyed it I highly recommend getting the lucky one when it comes out cause they're almost the exact same thing except the vow was way worse
A FORMULAIC, YET CHARMING ROMANCE
Honestly, "The Vow" was somewhat better than how most of the top critics made it seem. I took my girlfriend to see it with her on opening weekend because she loves those sort of films, so I had low expectations. And you know what? It wasn't half bad. Sure, it was full of syrupy, schmaltzy formula and overly sentimental dialogue, but it was actually pretty charming nonetheless. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum (who've both starred in their share of clichéd romantic dramas) do the best with what they're given, and their chemistry is surprisingly strong overall. Even the based-on-true-events story, with all its mundane plot holes and predictable twists, was sweet and emotionally engaging enough to keep my interest afloat. In the end, my girlfriend ended up enjoying it and so did I. It definitely isn't the best romance I've ever seen, but it's still an entertaining film that benefits from its respectable lead performances from McAdams and Tatum, and a thoughtful premise. So if you just wanna watch a simple, feel-good love story that you and your special someone can both enjoy, "The Vow" is a fine choice.
