About the Movie

The original horror classic that introduced one of the screen's most infamous monsters! Lon Chaney, Jr. portrays Larry Talbot, who returns to his father's (Claude Rains) castle in Wales and meets a beautiful woman (Evelyn Ankers). One fateful night, Talbot escorts her to a local carnival where Jenny's fate is revealed by a mysterious gypsy fortune teller. The dreamlike atmospheres and elaborate settings combined with a chilling musical score make The Wolf Man a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time!

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The Wolf Man is a compactly-knit tale of its kind, with good direction and performances by an above par assemblage of players, but dubious entertainment. – Variety Staff, Variety, Aug 3, 2010

Fresh: The Wolf Man serves its horror straight. A very substantial cast undertakes to sell believably a tale of superstitious folklore. – Hollywood Reporter, Apr 7, 2015

Fresh: A stodgy Universal thriller from 1941, redeemed by a name-heavy cast and by Lon Chaney Jr.'s lumbering, affable performance in the title role. – Dave Kehr, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: There's undeniable magic within the staid format. – Don Macpherson, Time Out, Oct 13, 2014

Splendid classic horror fun!

this is one of my all time favorites! if you are a classic horror movie buff, you haven't lived until you've seen this! the effect during the transformation is gorgeous for the early 40's. and excellent rental or buy for anyone seeking entertainment

Cool. Keep up the good work Apple

Before you see the remake that is coming out in November, I think you should either rent this movie or buy it. It is perhaps the best Universal Monster Movie (Along with Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man, { I think that Apple should upload the mentioned movie}). If you want to watch a good werewolf movie or just want to watch a good movie, you should check it out.

The Best

I have all of the classics on my Computer. Dracula, Okay. The mummy, cool. Frankenstein, Nice. Creature F.T.B.L, awesome. Wolfman, THE BEST.
