About the Movie

Academy Award®-winners Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) and Benicio Del Toro (Traffic) tear up the screen in this action-packed thriller. Lawrence Talbot (Del Toro) is lured back to his family estate to investigate the savage murder of his brother by a bloodthirsty beast. There, Talbot must confront his childhood demons, his estranged father (Hopkins), his brother's grieving fiancée (Emily Blunt, The Devil Wears Prada) and a suspicious Scotland Yard Inspector (Hugo Weaving, The Matrix trilogy). When Talbot is bitten by the creature, he becomes eternally cursed and soon discovers a fate far worse than death. Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Watch the never before seen unrated version.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Anthony Hopkins portrays Sir John Talbot. Benicio Del Toro is prodigal son Lawrence. That's a great deal of acting sinew for an oddly anemic outing. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Benicio Del Toro pulls off a nifty trick in The Wolfman: He makes turning into a werewolf look as dull as doing your taxes. – Adam Graham, Detroit News, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: An ill-considered, utterly unnecessary remake. – James Adams, Globe and Mail, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Joe Johnston turns a classic monster into an anaemic bore. – Don Groves,, Dec 31, 2010

I went and saw this movie in theaters the day it came out and was expecting a pretty exciting movie. I wasnt at all... I almost never say a movie is really bad, but this is one of those movies that just truly sucked and which i had trouble sitting through. The acting was absolutly horrible to start out with. I think anthony hopkins and benicio del toro are great actors, but maybe they werent being paid enough or something cause they did really bad in their parts. Hugo Weaving seemed like the only actor who was really trying, but that didnt help make the movie any better. The movie was also very predictable (i have never seen the original movie) and so they try to put a twist in the movie but you practically know everything thats going to happen within the first 20 minutes of the movie. It wasnt too exciting at all, and there wasnt that much action in the movie. I WOULD NOT BOTHER EVEN SEEING THIS MOVIE IF I WERE YOU, BUT IF YOU MUST, THEN RENT IT

Classic Reborn

Of all of the modern revamps of the classic Universal Monsters, this is by far the best. The acting was top notch, the make up from Rick Baker was astonishing, and considering the massive delays and changes in directors over the three year development, Joe Johnston crafted a truly great film.

The worst of 2010 is here

I'm sorry, but I hate this movie. In my opinion there was no real plot, just gore, gore, and to shake it up, some more gore. Some may like it, but in my personal opinion its not worth buying.
