About the Movie
Music lovers will be astonished at the influence The Wrecking Crew wielded over rock and pop music in the 1960s and early 1970s. These unsung instrumentalists were the de-facto backing band on hit records by The Beach Boys, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny & Cher, Elvis, The Monkees and many more. These dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American “West Coast Sound” a dominant cultural force around the world.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: With its release held up for seven years because of rights issues, Denny Tedesco's illuminating documentary about the unsung L.A. session musicians who provided the backbeat for some of the greatest songs from the '50s through the '80s can now be seen.
Fresh: The unsung heroes who played on stacks of wax during the '60s pop era are celebrated in a hugely entertaining documentary.
Fresh: Though their story has taken decades to reach the screen, it has been worth the wait.
Fresh: With a son's love and duty, Tedesco ... breezily celebrates the team that laid down a thousand riffs back just before pop became too serious for anonymous craftsmanship.
A real treasure
Watch this and try to not sing along the whole time. This movie is the stories behind some of the greatest music (beach boys! Phil Spector!) and musicians of all time. If you love 60s music you have to see this.

After awaiting seemingly forever for the March 13 release I went to iTunes to purchase it first thing this morning. Turns out it can only be rented! What's up with that? I want to watch it more than once. The two star rating was all I could give it... until I see it. Sorry. I'm sure I'll give it five stars... after I purchase it.
