Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The storytelling becomes muddled in the middle, and the suspense doesn't build as well as it ought to, but the winking undercurrent keeps the film watchable.
Fresh: Neither very plausible nor scary, this found-footage exercise is nonetheless entertaining enough for a spell ...
Rotten: The movie doesn't do justice to a promising premise.
Rotten: An hour and fifteen minutes of tedium is too long to wait for two or three minutes of pleasantly cheesy.
Fun to watch, the humor was spot on and the cast was perfectly matched. Love finding stuff like this before it hits the super popular status.
Fangoria future shock...
Switch off the Atari 2600… Slide back on your vinyl bean bag… Grab a bag of popcorn and a Jolt Cola and get ready for a wicked movie that will remind you how awesome it was to be jammed in the basement with your mates watching Scanners in the early 80’s… This clever movie starts off with plenty of humor and suspense, found footage style as a bunch of Yanks find themselves alone in the woods in Eastern Europe… Think you know the rest..? The twist at the end and the final 1/2 hour will have you digging up your old copies of Fangoria and dusting off your old VHS copies of The Driller Killer and Day of the Dead etc…. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended.
Slow Burn, exciting finish
Most horror films are full of boring stock characters and bad actors. When the characters die, you shrug and move along. In this film, you find yourself hoping the people in it WON'T die, which is the way it should be.
