About the Movie
When their father passes away, four grown siblings (Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Corey Stoll), bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother (Jane Fonda) and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide-- driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Once in awhile, a reviewer's darkest suspicions about a film butt up against a sneaky pleasure in its incidental epiphanies. I confess to being conflicted.
Rotten: The most charitable thing you can say about This Is Where I Leave You is that it is resolutely innocuous -- a nothing of a movie, neutered and sanitary.
Rotten: In the best dramedies, of course, laughter and tears alternate seamlessly and gracefully, and you leave both entertained and enlightened. Alas, this isn't that film.
Fresh: Terrific ensemble family comedy-drama...Directed by comedy specialist Shawn Levy who slowly, skilfully shifts gear from comedy to drama as the issues get deeper and ever more complicated. A very satisfying trip.
One Of The Worst Movies Of All Time
The funniest scene, which is supposed to be a really intense dramatic scene— Tim Olyphant(who is playing Brad Pitt with a brain injury) can’t remember why he is holding a wrench. And tosses the wrench angrily. Hysterical stuff. I recommend this movie if you love Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. It is that bad.
Laugh Out Loud Comedy Of The Year!
This movie is by far one of the best comedies/dramas of the year. To even put it in a single category would be a crime because of how diverse and original it truly is. With a cast so well put together you firmly believe they are their characters. Anyone can relate to this heart reaching hilariously funny movie about the struggles in life we face and the family and friends to help us along the way.
