About the Movie

Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Rotten: We used to do the future so much better. Let's not forget that. Let's forget this instead. – David Sexton, London Evening Standard, Aug 31, 2012

Rotten: Recalls Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and Christopher Nolan's Inception, without, sadly being quite as distinctive as either. – Peter Bradshaw, Guardian, Aug 30, 2012

Rotten: People got up, left and returned, casually, without urgency or guilt, as though passing the time between trains: it clearly did not remotely thrill them. – Antonia Quirke, Financial Times, Aug 30, 2012

Rotten: It's escapism that is itself trapped in a prison of risk-phobic, formulaic filmmaking. – Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK), Aug 29, 2012

I wanted to like it but the acting is bad, the sets look fake and the action sequences are awful. I'm also tired of hearing the same sound a knife makes in every movie. Guess what folks, when you pull a knife I makes no sound!!

Great remake

I just saw a 1990 film with Arnold Schwarzenegger and it's was great and I just saw a remake with Colin Farrell and it's way better than the 90's flim.
The visual effects was amazing, the action and chase scene was awesome, the story was good and Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel Performance did a great job. But unfortunately the flims was bomb at the box office, the flims budget was $125 million dollar and total was $58.4 million dollar.
Well the 1990 flims got 84% on Rotten Tomatoes and the remake got 29% but I still enjoy both of they movies.

Total Recall (1990) - 4 1/2 stars out of 5
Total Recall (2012) - 5 stars out of 5

Fun, and that's what it's about

I love that the critics can't get it. Does a movie entertain...this one does. Is it a piece of art that we should immortalize...well, few movies actually are. I watch movies to be entertained, and, my brother, this movie entertains! Watch it. And hang onto to something.
