The toys are back in town and ready to play once again on the big screen in Toy Story 2, the exciting sequel to the landmark 1995 animated blockbuster from Disney/Pixar. This comedy-adventure picks up as Andy heads off to Cowboy Camp leaving his toys to their own devices. Things shift into high gear when an obsessive toy collector named Al McWhiggin (Wayne Knight), owner of Al's Toy Barn, kidnaps Woody (Tom Hanks). At Al's apartment, Woody discovers that he is a highly valued collectible from a 1950s TV show called "Woody's Roundup," and he meets the other prized toys from that show - Jessie the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), Bullseye the horse and Stinky Pete the Prospector (Kelsey Grammer). Back at the scene of the crime, Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and the gang from Andy's room -- Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Slinky Dog (Jim Varney), Rex (Wallace Shawn) and Hamm (John Ratzenberger) -- spring into action to rescue their pal from winding up as a museum piece. The toys get into one predicament after another in their daring race to get Woody home before Andy returns.

Fresh: Pixar's improved computer animation is up to all the demands of this excellent adventure.
Fresh: Toy Story 2 is a brilliant example of that rarest of Hollywood phenomena a sequel to a major hit film thats as good, if not better, than the original.
Fresh: They've done it again. The folks who brought you 'Toy Story now present Toy Story 2, another clever, riotous tale of life in the toy lane.
Fresh: Even though computer animation may seem like the coldest, least organic art form, the characters pulse with more humanity than most live actors can muster in a dozen mainstream movies.
New! Better! Batteries Included!
Now, don't get me wrong, the first Toy Story was a fantastic film. Being one of the first full length fully digital movies ever made, it was surprisingly good. But here we have one of the rare cases of the sequel that surpasses the original. The first Toy Story was hindered only by the frightening scenes which took place in Sid's room. Toy Story 2 is not frightening to children in any way, the jokes appeal to adults as well as kids, it introduces new and enjoyable characters, and the story is not just recycled material from the first film. This film is fun to watch for just about anyone to infinite and... well, you know. CONTENT: Some mild crude humor, mild peril. WHO: Small kids and up.
I Want To Buy This Movie For The Correct $10 Library Title Price
I love Pixar movies, and I would love to buy them all from iTunes, but there seems to be a discrepancy with the pricing of Pixar movies as opposed to the pricing of other library titles. What I mean is, when Steve Jobs revealed the iTunes Movie Store, he explained that new releases would have the $14.99 price tag whereas the Library Titles would have a $9.99 price tag. This works correctly for other movies on iTunes, but for some reason, Pixar movies (most of which are NOT new releases) all carry the $14.99 price tag. Now, whether this has to do with the fact that Steve Jobs was the CEO of Pixar for several years (and therefore sees it fit to charge the top dollar for these very well done movies) or not, I say that they should not receive such special treatment since these movies contain NO special features, or even a high quality picture. I am willing to pay $9.99 for these digital copies of these very well done movies, and I really do understand all the hard work it takes to make a full 3D motion picture, but I really cannot see paying what will be an extra $35-$40 when I go and buy all the Pixar movies on iTunes. Please Apple, lower the cost of the older Pixar movies to their appropriate $9.99 price, and I will buy every Pixar movie that is on the iTunes store. Thanks in advance.
while i had doubts before watching this movie, (based on the enormous sucess of the first movie), i was totally in awe after the movie was over. it is a terrific follow-up to toy story 1 which was also a fabulous movie, and you can tell it will at least be interesting because who can resist talking toys? also, "When She Loved Me" which is on the soundtrack is also a must buy which was remarkably remade by jordan pruitt on the disneymania 5 album
