Fresh: The only perceptible purpose of the story is to pay homage to Dawson, and rightly so; her character is a rare blend of she-devil and sculptured deity, rising above the follies of mere men.
Rotten: For a while, "Trance" had me guessing, and more or less hooked. Then the violence, motivations, double-crosses and fantasy/reality tangles became tedious.
Fresh: For much of the film ... Boyle's innate flair as a dramatist and conjurer keeps one clamped to the armrests.
Fresh: It's an ingeniously built automaton, sexy as hell, and devoid of a heart.
Watched this movie on my iPad figuring it wasn't worth watching through my Apple TV but huge mistake! All I can say a MUST SEE!! For anyone who enjoys thrillers with plenty of twists!
A sad tale of love, loss and the memories that are made
I didn't expect this movie full of violence, corruption and bad relationships to affect me in the way that it did, but I was left awestruck at how it all played out in the end. Rosario Dawson is excellent as a shrink who is trying to help her client remember something very important, but are her motivations as clear as they appear? Will keep you wondering what exactly is going on, and even when it's all over, you will feel like you lost something precious in the process. A dynamic film that makes you think about the people you choose to spend your time with.
This is probably one of the most complicated movies I've watched since Inception. If you're one of those people who like to grab a bite or a drink during a film then this is not for you. This movie requires your full attention to be worthwhile. Unless you can press pause ...dont leave the room.
