About the Movie

From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes a thrilling battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. When their epic struggle comes to Earth, all that stands between the Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). Unaware that he is mankind’s last chance for survival, Sam and Bumblebee, his robot disguised as a car, are in a heart-pounding race against an enemy unlike anything anyone has seen before. It’s the incredible, breath-taking film spectacular that USA Today says “will appeal to the kid in all of us.”

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Divorced from reality, even movie reality, Transformers becomes an action film in traction. Its relentless product placement makes it seem like a 2hr. 22min. General Motors commercial. And the film has just enough collisions to be a crashing bore. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The action sequences are so turgid it's sometimes hard to tell which 'bot is doing what, but with Bay steadily hurling fireworks you won't really pause much to think about that, or about how truly inane the story is. – David Germain, Associated Press, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: With Transformers, director Michael Bay has once again claimed the year's top honors for loud, stupid filmmaking. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The welcome mat is out for Michael Bay's cheerfully dopey saga inspired by the popular shape-shifting toys from the '80s. – Joanne Kaufman, Wall Street Journal, Jun 24, 2010

This movie is great, even to new commers of the whole series. Shia does an amazing job, the soundtrack is awesome and the special effects/sounds are "out of this world."
