Rotten: Troy isn't so much a simplified retelling of The Iliad as a re-imagined version of it, told wholly without imagination.
Fresh: Harsh, serious, and both exhilarating and tragic, the right tonal combination for Homer.
Fresh: All Hollywood and no Homer, but within its limits, it's a vigorous, entertaining movie.
Rotten: All of the visual majesty that hundreds of millions of dollars can buy cannot obscure the perfunctory and unsatisfying development of the major characters.
the action is gripping, the acting is fabulous, the men are hot, the women are beautiful, and the story is epic. There is no reason not to like this movie. this is the first review I have ever written on iTunes, because I felt compelled to express my deep love for this wonderful movie. It is a tragic story, yet it has a silver lining. Enjoy!!
this is a great movie, they did really good to get the story without losing the main parts. one of my favourite things about this movie is they include charectors like Ajax, alot of people dont even realize he was there at all but this film brings him out
This movie truly is well done for being based off one of the longest epic poems, the Iliad. I agree some parts could have been better, and they could have cut certain scenes out. Overall though the movie was not a disappointment music was fitting, action was constant, and keeping to what it was based off I'd say pretty close (for Hollywood standards).
