About the Movie

Tucker and Dale, two best friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house, are mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies by a group of obnoxious, preppy college kids. When one of the students gets separated from her friends, the boys try to lend a hand, but as the misunderstanding grows, so does the body count.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A droll sendup of the killer-in-the-swamp genre that gets funnier as it rolls along. – Neil Genzlinger, New York Times, Sep 29, 2011

Fresh: At its heart, it's really just a one-idea premise stretched out to feature length, but the lovable duo of Tudyk and Labine and an endearing layer of sweetness under all the blood make it a fully enjoyable comedy of (t)errors. – Keith Staskiewicz, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 30, 2011

Fresh: A farce of misunderstanding first, body-count nightmare second and at nearly all times a refreshingly upending horror-comedy bromance. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Sep 29, 2011

Rotten: Essentially a student film offering nothing but absurdly contrived coincidence. – Kyle Smith, New York Post, Sep 30, 2011

Thank you iTunes!!!

I saw this movie at the Traverse City Film Festival and loved every minute of it but was disappointed when I found out there was no distributor, so I've been anxiously awaiting this film's release, and had pretty much given up hope on it. But iTunes came through for me.

Now for review. It is definitely not for everyone, but for people who enjoy this brand of almost spoof (nothing like scary movie though, thankfully) comedy, you're in for a treat. Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine are hilarious as the hillbillies who get mistaken for Deliverance style killers. I recommend this to people who liked Hot Fuzz or Sean of the Dead. Its basically another great film that takes a tired old storyline and twists it perfectly into something new. Hope you enjoy it and thanks again iTunes.

Great film!

I agree with the critics on this one, this film was fresh and played out the funniest version of the "Cabin in the woods/slasher films!) Well worth renting when available!
Tyler Labine steals the show, just as he did in Reaper!

Best horror movie I have seen in a long time!

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is hilarious. Seeing the carnage from the other side is great it is up there with Behind The Mask.
