Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson star in a mind-shattering, suspense-filled thriller that stays with you long after the end of this riveting supernatural film. After David Dunn (Willis) emerges from a horrific train crash as the sole survivor -- and without a single scratch on him -- he meets a mysterious stranger (Jackson). An unsettling stranger who believes comic book heroes walk the earth. A haunting stranger, whose obsession with David will change David's life forever.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: By the time the film is over you may feel as if the 12 year old inside of you has been utterly wowed and that the adult is still going, 'Hmmmm...'
Fresh: Thrill-kill plots, cardboard characters and zap-pow editing are not for Shyamalan, who takes his good, thoughtful time to snare audiences in his dark web.
Rotten: The presence of pop culture refs via comics makes quite notable the absence of any humor or sense of fun, just as it makes its pretentions to deep meaning and self-importance all the more specious.
Fresh: An intriguing story executed with visual panache and fine acting performances.

WAY BETTER THAN I COULD OF EXPECTED
I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE JUST ANOTHER FILM.SO I WAS AMAZED TO DISCOVER THAT IT WAS AN AWESOME FILM.
Still as good as the 2nd time I saw it!
I saw this movie in theaters when it was released, and with my "Sixth Sense" expectations guiding me, I found myself hugely disappointed. But then, I decide to give the movie a 2nd chance on DVD----WOW! What a difference it is to watch a movie without my preconcieved notions. I now own a special edition DVD set of this film, and I highly recommend purchasing/downloading this one. The mood is dark (and awsome), the camera-work and subtle visuals are eyecatching and unusual (No shaky camera shots here!), and the acting is nuanced and in different directions from the norm (primarily in regards to Willis & Jackson). Get it.
