About the Movie
A poetic mediation over certain subjects in life, peace of mind, serenity, sustainability, and loss. The film was shot in County Kerry in Ireland, and has at its centre language, landscape and light. Monsignor Padráig Ó’Fiannachta, a distinguished linguist, scholar and poet, acts as our guide. Both the English and Irish language play a prominent role in the narrative, as well as occasional quotations from Latin and Greek epic poems. The central question of the film circles around the age old philosophical question ‘what is the good life?. The film takes inspiration from Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical on the environment ‘Laudato si’ Considering what is 'wealth’ and where can this be found? Proposing that ‘wealth’ ultimately emanates from peace of mind, sustained through a deeper connection with nature.
Stunning Visual Journey
This stunning artistic creation brings joy and peace into my soul. The images, along with the music and voice over, pulled at my heart in a way that was magical. I want to buy a projector specifically so I can play this on my wall over and over again. It's a gift. I highly recommend it.
The Uncountable Laughter Of The Sea
This is an excellent movie and one I will watch over and over again. I first watched it following the sudden death of a family member and found it to be a gift from God when I needed it most.
It is calming and hopeful in this busy stressful world we live in.
I highly recommend this film and would like to thank all involved in making it.
Natural and spiritual beauty on full display
This movie is a stunningly beautiful meditation on the majesty of County Kerry, Ireland. I'm so fortunate to have seen this movie while touring in the county. Now I'm grateful to be able to revisit the beauty of County Kerry from my living room in NYC.
