Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The lackluster story connects the cliches but leaves the characters isolated. Underdog may have been originally created to sell cereal for General Mills, but this latest incarnation couldn't sell Frisbees at a dog park. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The sort of noisy, over-produced affair in line with much recent family-friendly programming. – Justin Chang, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The movie's sloppiness is galling, especially given its target audience. It's one thing to feed grown-ups junk, and another to serve it to consumers too young to know they're being had. – Sam Adams, Los Angeles Times, Sep 20, 2007

Rotten: Good one-liners and dog tricks, but no best in show. – Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Fun movie for a family with young kids

We downloaded and watched this movie with our three young children (4,5,7). We all enjoyed it. It has comedy, action and special effects that don't overwhelm the story. I watched the cartoon as a kid and enjoyed this movie. You don't need to know anything about the cartoon to enjoy the movie. Jason Lee and Patrick Warburton are very enjoyalbe with delivering the comedy.

Great for kids.

I notice the bad feedback is mostly from people who have not seen the movie or forgot what it means to be a kid. Another remark by many is that not many kids have ipods. You don't need an ipod to watch the movie. I watch the movies with my nephew on my laptop all the time and my 3 year old nephew has watched movies on my ipod as well. Thanks iTunes for adding more movies for children.

The Mighty Underdog!!!

When this movie was in theatres, I really liked it. In fact, I saw it many times. It was a really funny movie with a lot of dog humor (which made it funny). It's a great movie for kids and adults alike so I highly recommend it. It's really worth the money. Have no fear Underdog is here!! =D
