About the Movie
From the producer of The Case for Israel - Democracy's Outpost comes a meticulous examination of the resurgence of lethal Jew-hatred in regions around the world. Filmmaker Gloria Greenfield travels from Europe to Israel to North America, interviewing world-renowned scholars, analysts, experts in international law and media, and political leaders to cover this phenomenon comprehensively. The result of the interviews is a serious and sometimes terrifying analysis of how Jew-hatred, often masked as anti-Zionism, has permeated modern life and discourse worldwide. The viewer is taken on a journey through the evolution of Jew-hatred: from historical Christian Jew-hatred to its adaptation during the Enlightenment; to the anti-Jewish racism of the Nazi regime, which is then carried forward by Islamist ideologues. The emergence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1920s and '30s and its sustained role in inciting and perpetrating lethal Jew-hatred is a signficant fact that must be understood. In examining the current political assault against the Jewish people and their right to self-determination, Unmasked Judeophobia is a call to action and urgent reminder that Jew-hatred is a menace not only to Jews, but also to the human condition itself.
Must see, honest, and informative
Judeophobia masterfully exposes our worst fear, that anti-Semitism did not die in the Holocaust. Tracing the history of Jew hatred, the film explains how anti-Semitism is thriving today and the risk that poses not just to Jews, but to Western Civlization. Not all wars are fought on the battlefield, and this film helps us understand just that. This film is a must see for anyone who cares about freedom, equality, and religious tolerance.
Hopefully the first in a series of many, Judeophobia follows the phenomenon that is anti-Semitism, both in antiquity and in today's modern world. It seems like this 'most lasting of hatreds,' as Mr. Wiesel succinctly puts it, never leaves us. It is suppressed for a time and becomes social taboo for a season, only to be resurrected, only to return with a vengeance. Today in 2012, we see the newest form of anti-Semitism shrouded in anti-Zionism, or, anti-Israel sentiment. Scenes from Apartheid Week and events hosted by pro-Palestine groups on college campuses portray the Jew as merciless, akin to Hitler. In one fell swoop, Israel, the Jewish state becomes the Nazi state, and as the Palestine movement denies the Holocaust, it accuses the Jewish state of perpetrating another against the Arab people, and calls for its annihilation. More than educational, Greenfield's piece is both a warning and a wakeup call. Anti-Semitism is spreading across the globe, not only in the Middle East but in Europe and in Latin America. It is our duty to become aware and get involved to combat this most lasting of injustices, to stand with the Jewish people everywhere, and advocate for the self-determination of this magnificent people which has graced us with literary ,mathematic and artistic gifts that the world heretofore has never known. Judeophobia helps us take that first step. See the film today.
