Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: If the movie is a bit of a mystery, so is Carruth. – Melissa Maerz, Entertainment Weekly, Dec 17, 2013

Fresh: Carruth's visual approach, saved from abstraction by his own rapid, forward-leaping editing, is extremely assured. Seimetz is a fine and expressively haunted actress. I look forward to the enigmas in Carruth's next picture. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Dec 17, 2013

Fresh: Should you see Upstream Color? A better question may be: How many times should you see it? – Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post, Dec 17, 2013

Fresh: Clearly, the film is intended as a tactile experience of poetic ideas, of modern disconnection and biophysical insecurity and existential doubt, and the clarity of these anxieties is bruising and stunning. – Michael Atkinson, Sight and Sound, Dec 17, 2013

Good movie

Best movie of 2013

The word masterpiece is often overused but not by me and certainly not here. This is without a doubt the best film of 2013 and also one of the best films of this decade so far.
