About the Movie

The next generation of Griswolds is at it again – and on the road for another ill-fated adventure. Following in his father's footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America's "favorite family fun park," Walley World.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It's as if Daley and Goldstein started with a list of disgusting topics - outre sex acts, human waste, pubic hair, projectile vomiting, cow cannibalism, et al. - and constructed a narrative around them. – Scott Tobias, NPR, Jul 31, 2015

Rotten: It holds on to the original's acrid cynicism for the first 40 minutes or so before turning predictable and bland. There are some real, nasty laughs to be had here, but they're front-loaded. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jul 30, 2015

Rotten: No one expects originality, but the new movie may end up making history: It's already looking like the worst movie of the year. – Stephanie Merry, Washington Post, Jul 30, 2015

Rotten: I'm all for bawdy, politically incorrect, wildly inappropriate humor -- when there are consistent and genuine laughs to be mined from the material. – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times, Aug 13, 2015
