Vietnam: An Inner View follows our protagonist (photographer and Marine veteran Marc C. Waszkiewicz) across three combat tours in South Vietnam circa 1968. Friends made along the way (and interviewed as 'still youngish guys' back in 1995) provide plenty of pathos and humor to the short feature documentary. We witness Marc and his buddies' collective evolutions (from gung-ho Marines to whatever they became) as the film unfolds. The all-original, lyrically focused soundtrack provides the audio bed to keep the story rocking and rolling "60's style." Vietnam: An Inner View presents an eyes-wide-open, apolitical, and quite compassionate look at life in country during the late 60's. Vietnam vets have long suffered stereotypes they had nothing to do with creating, and this film blows those stereotypes right out of the water. Featuring all-original photographs and music, Vietnam: An Inner View is in a category by itself.
