About the Movie

After a Missouri high school loses three students to suicide, Mark Norwine, a mental health advocate, and his son, embark on a 200-mile walk across the state seeking to educate students and better understand the epidemic for themselves. When the road proves difficult, father and son must confront their own mental health struggles, which they've kept secret for so long. Endorsed by universities and mental health organizations across the United States, "Walking Man" is an honest and moving look into one family's journey with mental illness.

Breaking the Stigma

One of the ways to break the stigma surrounding mental health in America is to start the conversation. This was beautifully portrayed in Walking Man and has helped me as a teacher, friend, and family member to empathize with all people. No one does it alone.

Powerfull

This is a powerful film that helps to paint the stigmas associated with Mental Health in a new light. As an educator, it has helped me be more aware of the problems some of my students face on a daily basis.

A face to mental health

I didn't know much about bi-polar or depression before watching this movie. This helped me understand the individual journey. Great movie!
