Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Wall Street isn't a movie to make one think. It simply confirms what we all know we should think, while giving us a tantalizing, Sidney Sheldon-like peek into the boardrooms and bedrooms of the rich and powerful. – Vincent Canby, New York Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Stone's most impressive achievement in this film is to allow all the financial wheeling and dealing to seem complicated and convincing, and yet always have it make sense. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Wall Street, in large part due to the timing of its release, became more than just a movie. It became a declaration of the moral bankruptcy infiltrating elements of society, and Gekko's words were an ode to that philosophy. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Sep 14, 2010

Fresh: All the performances are excellent with the emotional highlights including the father/son emotional angst between Sheen and his real life father Martin Sheen. – Urban Cinefile Critics, Urban Cinefile, Sep 14, 2010

Motivating

"Greed is Good." - Gordon Gecko Great film, great acting... awesome dialog... Super funny to see the 80's technology but it doesn't matter... You just can't help becoming excited over the whole story.

Great film

A film for people who hate and love the worst in everyone. "Greed is good". People in the business say that a great film will leave you with a line of dialogue you will never forget. If they are right, Wall Street Strikes gold. The sets are amazing. Wardrobe is spot on. The cast is a dream team.

"Greed is good, now it seems thats its legal", will Gekko strike again with MS:Money Never Sleeps? ( Oliver Stone is directing the sequel )

Greed is very good

This movie has almost everything: drama, great acting, terrific actors. It's nice to see Charlie Sheen and his father, Martin Sheen in a movie full of hate, competition, and coming out on top.

It was worth winning the Best Actor Oscar for Michael Douglas. In most of the movies I've seen of him (Basic Instinct, The Game, Falling Down, Traffic and so on), movie producers and directors always give Michael some strange and crazy roles, just like "Black Rain".

Overall, if you're into the eighties and see what the buzz was about, you gotta see this movie.
