About the Movie
Based on a true story, the film follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: War Dogs is that rare contemporary comedy that knows how to make a laugh stick in your throat.
Rotten: The characters have no memories, no identities, no range of interests, no personal connections, no idiosyncrasies beyond the dictates of the plot and the numbingly clear point that the filmmakers use it to make.
Rotten: Instead of outrage or any sense of shock and surprise, all the film has on offer is mild entertainment. Given the company, that feels like a bit of a miss.
Fresh: A diverting but by no means indispensable expose of the international arms black market.
Good movie but way too many f bombs
True, genuine comedy that would make an entire theater laugh out loud. No cheesy cheapshots here. And it’s based on a true story. What more could you want?
I have one problem however, and it’s not related to the movie, but to iTunes. Why do you keep labeling comedies as dramas and full-blown dramas as comedies? What’s wrong with you, seriously?
And to the person stating that there were too many “f-bombs”, I’d suggest you watch teletubbies or dora the explorer, those shows should suit your style more.
Such an outlandish story...and it's true (based on the true story, anyway). Jonah Hill and Miles Teller are really good. I wouldn't classify it as a comedy, though. It's pretty much just a drama, with a couple of moderately funny parts.
