When the days get short and cold, and the land is cloaked in white — that’s when we come out to play. We are beckoned by the thrill of speed, the joy of air and unclimbed mountains asking for someone to stand atop them and declare, "Winter's open for business!" Deep powder. Huge airs. World-class cinematography. Awe-inspiring soundtrack. It’s all part of Warren Miller Entertainment's 59th feature film, Children of Winter. The world’s greatest action sports filmmaker showcases spectacular footage shot in Japan, Austria, British Columbia, Alaska and Iceland with jaw-dropping performances by an impressive assembly of world-class athletes, including Jonny Moseley, Daron Rahlves, Marco Sullivan, Seth Wescott, Gerry Lopez and Wendy Fisher. For decades Warren Miller Entertainment has sought out the greatest athletes and inspiring locations — the perfect playground for the children of winter to play in.
This movie rocks! I have been waiting for sooooo long for it...KEEP SKIING!
Spectacular ski movie!
This movie is awesome. They aren't kidding around when they say word-class cinematography. The shots, scenes, and locations really show what skiing and riding is all about. I showed this movie to my high school ski and board team, and they all loved it. It sure got us excited for the upcoming winter season. I can't wait for Warren Miller's Dynasty.
As a racer, I really loved how this movie showed the evolution of the sport, especially the scene from Sun Valley featuring skier-cross and boarder-cross, and also the mogul skiing. Racing isn't all about slalom and GS anymore.
For all of you upset about the Level 1 VS WME lawsuit, stop losing sleep. Warren Miller sold his name to WME a long time ago, then chose to split, and WME found that he was infringing on the trademark that he sold in a business deal. If it was wrong for WME to sue, they will get what's coming to them. That's what trials and lawsuits are for. And I challenge any of you to find a major music label or Hollywood film company that hasn't gotten caught up in a similar kind of business dispute. It's ALWAYS about the money for them. Business is tough, get over it. The movie rocks, regardless of any lawsuit.
Its not Warren Miller Anymore
Certainly not your traditional Warren Miller movie. He doesn't even do camo voice over at the end with his usual "You'll only be 1 year older when you do.".
Overall disappointed in the movie, last year's playground was amazing and I had high hopes that we would see another one.
Although I agree it focused on US locations, given the economy and the buy America attuitude it made sense, just wish they had more scenes on the snow.
If you don't own any Warren Miller Movies recommend you pick last years Playground, you'll be happier for it.
In terms of the law suit noise in other reviews, think people need to look up the reason for the suit. Copy right infrangement is an big issue and if WME believes it was infranged upon then all the power to them.
