Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: [McCarthy's] writing reflects a wariness of human nature but he's not cynical; indeed, the story wraps up with a tenderness that feels true but completely without mush.
Fresh: The rare, humanist beauty of Win Win is that none of its characters is a caricature, none of its plot twists a blatant play for tears or laughs, none of its appeal based on some mythical lowest common denominator.
Fresh: Giamatti excels as the weak-kneed Mike, nicely working his gift for inner conflict and outer bumbling. As his wife, Amy Ryan is a ballast of unflinching moral certitude.
Fresh: McCarthy understands the thrill of incontrovertible victory and our primal lust for it.
This movie was deep and moving. I loved it!
Win Win is a win win movie
One of the best movies I've seen this year. Paul G is great, he captures emotions so well.. It's hard to tell he's acting. A simple story that will make you smile, chuckle, possibly shed a tear, but mainly it just leaves you feeling warm and happy about yourself when you've finished watching.
It's a shame it was not put into a wider release in the theaters. In my opinion it is much better than Sideways, and slightly better than Juno. The Rotten Tomatoes score does not lie.
