A powerful, true story about members of the Navajo tribe who proudly served the U.S. in WWII as code talkers by using their native language as a code to relay information to military leaders. Unbeknownst to the Navajo is the dark secret that they're to be killed by American soldiers if one of them is in danger of being captured.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The energy and conviction of the action sequences don't quite compensate for Windtalkers' emotional cliches and historical heedlessness.
Rotten: A powerful premise turned into a stubbornly flat, derivative war movie.
Rotten: No amount of burning, blasting, stabbing, and shooting can hide a weak script.
Rotten: I kept wishing I was watching a documentary about the wartime Navajos and what they accomplished instead of all this specious Hollywood hoo-ha.
