Finally -Thank You iTunes Movies
If you thought that "True Romance" with Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken was a true Cult Classic, then also consider that "Year of The Dragon" should be a part of your saved movie Library. This is perhaps the best role that Mickey Rourke ever portrated. IMHO, The Movie is PURE CLASSIC and a must see.
This is a very underrated movie. One of Mickey Rourkes best!
One of the grittiest cop movies ever filmed
I can think of no other film so brutally honest with its portrayal of corruption and looking the other way. Mickey Rourke is outstanding in his glimpse of a real bastard cop. Who is determined to do what he set out to no matter the cost. He portrays a Nam vet who won't back down. While he destroys everything around him and everyone in search of his justice. It's painful to watch him take the hits but like a fighter he keeps throwing punches when people say throw in the towel.
The film is a little uneven in places but the cinematography is beautiful. I loved this movie and wish I had seen it years ago. There are some brilliant pieces in the film on Chinese Tradition and their history in America. You owe it to yourself to see it. If you like James Woods film "COP" then you'll like this. If you haven't seen that watch that too.
