Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Given its title, you can be forgiven for assuming that Adam Wingard's home-invasion thriller will be just another blood-soaked body-count flick. But You're Next is better than that. A lot better. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Dec 30, 2013

Fresh: Home invasion thrillers seem to come along every five minutes... Kudos then to indie director Adam Wingard for kicking in with some fresh ideas. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Aug 23, 2013

Fresh: By slasher standards, the writing is good, with interesting turns and surprises. And the acting isn't bad, either, though Vinson is the one to remember. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Dec 30, 2013

Rotten: Most of these characters are disagreeable, so the prospect of their imminent demise isn't too upsetting. – Mark Jenkins, Washington Post, Aug 23, 2013

I'm Next LOL

I saw this movie in theaters with my cousin, Its really good. I personally loved it.

EPIC

This is one of those rare gems, that just shouldn't be as good as it is because of all its faults, and yet somehow, it's already my new favorite horror film. Yes, there are elements of the ridiculous throughout the film, which if seen out of context, would be absolutely inexcusable. But, in this movie, it works as a balancing agent to keep the film from leaning to far into murder-porn territory. Yes, the movie is uber-violent, but I never felt put off by it, because the movie makers, intentionally or not (the jury's still out on that one), balance the violence with cheesiness and cliche twists, and somehow, the result is epic. Totally unexpected, and a welcome change-up to the horror films genre.

Loved it

Saw this movie twice I thought it was that good. Some parts can be very predictable but definitely worth watching. Good twists and turns throughout. Loved Sharni Vinson in it too!!
